Job description

We are looking for a Project Coordinator on reporting to the Localisation Manager. You will coordinate localisation projects from start to end, liaising with internal and external resources as well as other departments.

The ideal candidate should be fluent in a language other than English, ideally – Japanese or German. This role is UK based remote only.

Job requirements

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate projects and resources throughout all the localisation cycle phases to ensure timely deliveries

  • Liaise with other teams, making sure our different schedules align

  • Regularly report about own projects and raise concerns in a timely manner

  • Import/export localisation material from software as required

  • Analyse documents and assure compliance with the company’s guidelines as well as identifying potential issues

  • Proofread and QA-check localised files in any language to ensure consistency in style and terminology

  • Keep reference documentation for an internal knowledge base up to date

  • Test software to the defined standard across all current Dovetail gaming platforms following methodical quality assurance processes and test scripts

  • Look for linguistic and functionality bugs in our software

  • Document test results providing professional, clear, accurate and complete bug description

  • Provide feedback to avoid repeated mistakes, contributing to the refinement and improvement of testing procedures and test plans

  • Work with development teams to rectify errors, providing gameplay and game-balance feedback

  • Manage budgets and occasionally negotiate rates with existing and new suppliers

Person Specifications

  • Past experience in the translation industry or university degree in language/translation studies

  • Fluency in a non-English language (Japanese and German will take precedence)

  • Strong oral and written English skills

  • A keen interest in games and how they are made

  • Understanding of game localisation and quality assurance principles

  • Multitasking and good time management

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle pressure and be efficient when working with tight deadlines

  • Ability to tailor workflows according to release schedules

  • Problem-solving, decision-making and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude that builds team spirit

Beneficial, but not essential requirements:

  • Experience in a coordination role

  • Translation and Localisation experience

  • Knowledge of CAT tools

  • Knowledge of Jira or other database systems and gaming platforms like Steam, Playstation, Xbox, Epic Store and Microsoft Game Store

  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite

  • Translation and Localisation experience

  • Knowledge of Perforce Visual Client
