Job description

We’re looking for a Lead Artist with the vision, skill, and drive to set the standard for quality, technical excellence, and artistic direction on our train titles and exciting new projects. Working closely with the Art Director, you’ll set the visual benchmark and guide the artistic development of each product from concept to completion. This role is UK based remote only.

Job requirements

Main Responsibilities

  • Define the visual quality targets for the team to achieve.

  • Define & assist in the implementation of class leading tools and technology in conjunction with the Technical Artist and engineering team

  • Effectively communicate with other members of the team this includes the Lead Programmer, Development Manager and Director of Product Development.

  • Manage and mentor the team in the use of key software packages and best practices.

  • Create high quality art assets in game.

  • Co-ordinate tasks and resource allocation with the Executive Producer

  • Set art schedules and track progress with the Development Manager.

Person Specifications

  • 8 years plus in the gaming industry

  • Shipped at least 1 AAA title in a Lead position

  • Excellent professional knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 & 5

  • Knowledge of Houdini

  • Expert with 3D Studio Max, Maya and other industry standard art tools.

  • Ability to create art assets to a high standard

  • Experience in the management and mentoring of a team of artists

  • Good understanding of CG techniques and technologies
