We’re looking for a Concept Artist who thrives on storytelling through visuals—someone who can bring worlds to life from a simple brief, set the tone and style of an experience, and collaborate across teams to define the look and feel of our environments, characters, and vehicles.
This role is UK based remote only.
As a Concept Artist at Dovetail Games, you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual direction of our titles. From early exploration to production-ready artwork, your designs will inspire the team and guide the 3D production pipeline. You’ll work closely with Art Director to build compelling visual worlds that captivate our audience.

Job requirements
Main Responsibilities
Define and develop the visual style of our games in collaboration with Art and Design Directors
Create mood boards, reference collections, and style guides to communicate visual direction
Design and illustrate environments, characters, and vehicles, from rough thumbnails to polished concept art
Brainstorm and iterate on ideas to find creative solutions that align with gameplay and narrative needs
Communicate visual ideas clearly to 3D artists, animators, and the wider development team
Help maintain consistency and quality across the visual development process
Person Specifications
4+ years of professional experience as a Concept Artist in the games industry
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop with a strong portfolio demonstrating realistic concept art for games
Excellent illustration skills with a strong grasp of form, colour, light, and composition in realistic scenes
Ability to think visually and conceptually, adapting styles to meet game requirements
Good understanding of the game development process and technical limitations
Experience with 3D techniques and software (3DS Max, Maya) is beneficial
Strong collaborative skills and ability to interpret feedback constructively
