Our studio is situated in a river-front building in the heart of the Historic Dockyard in Chatham, Kent, UK. We are growing fast, developing our games using cutting-edge technology and delivering these on multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and 5 and Xbox One and Series S/X.
We have an opportunity for a remote, fully UK based remote opportunity for a Chinese LQA Tester. The successful candidate will be fluent in Chinese (Mandarin, Simplified) as well as English and ensure localised game content and marketing is suitable for release, to enable us to launch and become established in the Chinese games market.
Job requirements
Main Responsibilities
- Test software to the defined standard across all current Dovetail gaming platforms following methodical quality assurance processes and test scripts
- Look for linguistic (Chinese) and functionality bugs in our software
- Proof-read in-game and marketing material localised into Simplified Chinese
- Document test results using standard industry software providing professional, clear, accurate and complete bug descriptions
- Provide feedback to avoid repeated mistakes, contributing to the refinement and improvement of testing procedures and test plans
- Work with development teams to rectify errors, providing gameplay and game-balance feedback
- Work with other team members to coordinate test coverage and avoid duplicated effort
- Assist other team members with project coordination tasks when required
- Assist with the training of new team members when required.
- Assist with localising materials into Simplified Chinese as required
- Assist with creating test plans for both PC and console platforms
- Write guidelines specific to Simplified Chinese localisation and QA
Person Specifications
- Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin, Simplified)
- Fluent in English
- Understanding the role of quality assurance and principles of software/game testing
- Excellent communication skills
- Keen gamer with the ability to familiarise with game-play elements rapidly
- Strong organisational and time keeping skills
- Good problem solving/analytical skills, strong attention to detail
- Knowledge or prior experience of bug reporting software/systems is beneficial
